Telangana: State cheated by Modi govt

HYDERABAD: Modi government did not do much for the Telangana State at the center.

According to the report published in Telangana Today, during a live interaction on Twitter at Nizamabad, MP, K Kavitha said, Narendra Modi government at the Centre did not do much for Telangana State.

Though Modi came in with great expectations, his government did not ensure implementation of assurances the State was given in the AP Reorganization Act.

She said, “One of the first decisions his Cabinet took was merging of 7 mandals in Telangana with Andhra Pradesh. So injustice was done to Telangana State from day one.”

“Though Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao suggested several good ideas, Modi went out of his way not to heed to them,” she added.

Kavitha said, in the Assembly elections people voted for the TRS because Mr Rao delivered his promises in his first term. People believe the hard work Mr Rao put in for instance in power, irrigation and development.

Kavitha also called for increasing the MP Local Area Development Fund Scheme allocation from Rs 5 crore to Rs 25 crore. “I have visited every village in my constituency and Rs 5 crore is peanuts. MPLADS should continue and the amount increased to Rs 25 crore,” she said.
