Hyderabad: The Bharatiya Janta Party State President Dr. Laxman today said that the September 17 Telangana Vimochana Diwas will be celebrated in a grand manner by organizing seminars debates and public meeting.
Disclosing this here today Dr.Laxman BJP State President along with N.v. Subhash , Sudhakar Sharma and others said that for the public meeting he will be going to Delhi in a day or two and will personally invite National Party President Amit Shah to address the same.
Strongly criticizing Uttam Kumar on his comments on BJp against Telangana reffering to the statement made by Amit Shah who said that the Bill was passed closing the doors of the Parliament Dr. Laxman asked him to recall that it was Sushma Swaraj but for whom Telangana would not have been a possibility He said that while Congress did close the doors of the Parliament to pass the bill it was BJP which passed the Article 370 and bifurcation of the Jammu and Kashmir in a transparent manner before the members of parliament. The Congress who hardly has any stake in the State with most of its Party members migrating to either BJP or TRS Dr. Laxman said that neither in case of Jammu and Kashmir on Article 370 or Telangana Congress could take any decision. He said that due to wrong timing on Telangana more than 1500 students had lost their lives had they taken timely decision specially since the agitation was going on since 1960s things would have been different.
Dr. Laxman also criticized Rahul Gandhi on his comments on Article 370saying that the scrapped Article should be revoked and restored and that there should be no bifurcation of Jammu &Kashmir .If that was the case he questioned why bifurcate Telangana and Andhra Pradesh the same should also be taken back . Interlinking Telangana with Jammu and Kashmir issue he alleged that Congress had failed on both front and lost credibility . Even in Congress there is divided opinion and cited the example of Jyotiraditya Scindias vote in favour of Article 370 and other Congress leaders .The Jammu and Kashmir issue would have been settled in 1948 but for Nehru it got delayed for 70 years .It is high time Congress realized it is Nation first he added.
About Rahul Gandhi tweeting that National integration cannot be achieved by tearing apart Jammu and Kashmir Dr. Laxman objected to the statement and said that if Telangana and Andhra Pradesh was bifurcated did it mean it was against national integration .He said that Congress had been in power for more than 50 years let him be cautious before making such statements . The bifurcation was freedom given to Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh which were in clutches and now got freedom .Article 370 was a hurdle effecting thousands of families socially economically but benefitting only few . When Mehbooba Mufti called upon youth of Jammu and Kashmir to get united to fight the battle one of the young children asked her to first call her children to join the battle . While her children study abroad she calls the local to become the scape goats and fight her battle .
Asked whether Jyotiraditya Scindia was also joing the BJP he said that Nationalists are welcome in the Party .
On another question about Any memorial or statue of Sushma Swaraj will be constructed in the City since she was instrumental for Telangana largely Dr. Laxman said that if his Government comes to power it will certainly be But recalled that he had asked for a piece of land for erecting statue of Atal Behari Vajpayee in Hyderabad but the Chief Minister is yet to give the land .On a question about BJP tinkering with the idea of making Hyderabad the second capital ? He said that it had not come to his notice but would welcome the Party’s decision.
