Ten commandments by Cyberabad police for the entire ladies hostels in IT corridor of Hyderabad

Hyderabad: To promote Hyderabad as the preferred IT destination the Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC) in joint collaboration between Cyberabad Police Commissionerate and IT Industry have started a “Project Safe Stay” to audit, review and provide a safe environment for all women who live in hostels in and around Cyberabad.

Mr. Krishna Yedula, Secretary of Society for Cyberabad Security Council said, “A special team would audit all women hostels across Cyberabad in the next couple of months. The hostels with 100% compliance shall be published to the Industry and websites for the benefit of users.”

The audit would be on the following 10 commandments:

1. Registration of Hostel

2. Access Control features at Entry & Exit points

3. Compound Wall & Gate

4. CCTV at Entry, Exit and on the Staircase to Terrace

5. Fire Extinguisher

6. Locker or Cupboard with secured lock system

7. Visitors Register

8. Background Check & ID Proofs of Staff/Workers/Inmates

9. Data Retention / Backup timelines

10. Notice Board, First Aid Kit, Feedback/Suggestion Box

Nearly there are 3000 ladies and boys’ hostel in the entire IT corridor of Cyberabad to conduct an audit a special team of 50 members has been set up. Team selects the area and start conducting the audit, this audit will be conducted with help of SCSC Volunteers & Cyberabad Police personnel under leadership of Ms.C. Anasuya, Deputy Commissioner of Police. They make sure that the people who are from other states or country living here in Cyberabad in hostels and working as an IT employee are safe.

The team makes sure that each and every hostel in Cyberabad follows the10 commandments.

The Cyberabad Security Council’s (SCSC) is a Women’s Forum started in September 2014 as an crucial focus area and sub group/stream of the SCSC, aiming to provide a platform for the Industry and Police to engage on issues related to women safety and security to make IT corridor a safe place for women to work and live in. Also, to empower, educate and enable women specifically employees in IT organizations, to manage and respond effectively to issues of safety and security.
