Hyderabad: In a joint operation conducted by special operation team of Rachakonda police and central crime station seven inter-state thieves’ gang was arrested and the articles were seized.
Commissioner of Rachakonda police, Mr. Mahesh Muralidhar Bhagawat while addressing the press conference yesterday told that the kingpin of this gang is Chawhan Tara Singh. He conducted thefts with the help of his aides,
Sonu, Beetin, Guftan, Saif Ali, Sadiq and Sajid in Chaitanyapuri, L.B. Nagar, Hayat Nagar and Nizamabad.
Mr. Bhagawat also informed that this gang was formed three years back.
The members of the gang used to take out their garments and keep in a separate bag which will facilitate them in running away after the theft is conducted.
Seeing the criminal activities of this gang, people had started suspecting that ‘Chaddi Gang’ has once again become active.
The commissioner also informed that this gang is involved in 14 theft case in Telangana, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra and other states.
According to the report of the police, after committing theft in Kantalur in Rachakonda area in October 2019, the thieves tried to sell the ornaments to a goldsmith. On getting information about the activities of this gang, police arrested them and seized ornaments weighing 150 gram gold, 400 gram silver, Rs.3,000 two daggers worth Rs. 6.55 lakh.
