Thousands march against ‘Islamophobia’ in France

Paris: Thousands marched through the streets of Paris on November 10 condemning Islamophobia following a mosque attack in Bayonne last month. Bayonne is a small town 700 kilometres south of the French capital.

An elderly gunman with far-right links injured two men in the attack. French left-wing organisations and personalities organised the demonstration.

The protestor condemned hostility towards Islam and discrimination against Muslims.

A newspaper, Liberation also published an open letter signed by a number of prominent leftists calling for a united front against Islamophobia On November 1. The protest also received backing from various Muslim groups.
