These demonstrators were however outnumbered by India’s supporters in Chicago as several members of the Indian community assembled outside the Indian Embassy in Washington and Indian Consulates in New York, Houston, San Francisco and Chicago to celebrate India’s 73rd Independence Day.

Four people were arrested for brawling, obstruction of police and possession of an offensive weapon in London according to sources.

Soon after cutting business ties with India, Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) also prohibited the broadcast of advertisements produced in India or featuring Indian actors and characters.

India has always maintained that the dilution of Article 370 was an internal matter and also advised Pakistan to “accept the reality”.
