Three from UP arrested for fraud in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Central Crime Station Police busted a gang of three men on Wednesday for cheating people on the pretext of getting them loans without interest.

According to the police, Suraj Varma, 29, Jitender Singh, 27 and Sonu Sharma, 28, all natives of Uttar Pradesh, duped a person of Rs 78,000 in August, Joint Commissioner
of Police Avinash Mohanty said.

The frauds contacted the victim and promised him a loan of Rs 10 lakh. They collected Rs 78,000 from him citing various expenses and duped him. Police registered a case and traced the gang to UP.

A special team of the city police went to UP and nabbed them.

The accused collected information of loan seekers through insurance agencies
and made calls to them. They offered loans without interest and collected money through bank accounts calling them
various fees including registration GST and so on.

After collecting money, they would switch off their mobile phones. They were brought to the city on transit warrant and were sent in judicial remand.
