Three interstate drug peddlers held in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The sleuths of Special Operations Team (SOT) of LB Nagar Zone along with Ghatkesar Police on Thursday arrested three interstate drug peddlers at Outer Ring Road, Ghatkesar Tollgate and seized 51 kgs of Ganja, one car, cash Rs. 4,500, and two mobile phones total worth Rs. 10.5 lakh.

The accused have been identified as Dharavath Vamshi Naik (24), Dharavath Raju Naik (27), and Jatavath Rathanlal (32), and Amagoth Nagaraju (30) (absconding) all belong to Suryapet District and Karan of Maharashtra is also absconding. Three of them were indulged in procuring contraband drug (Ganja) from Visakhapatnam in order to transport it at Shiridi of Maharashtra State. 

According to police, from past three years, the accused Daravath Vamshi Naik and his associates are indulged in the sale of Ganja in and around Hyderabad City, as well as in other areas as per their feasibility. They used to procure Ganja from the agency area like Dhaorakonda of Visakhapatnam district in Andhra Pradesh at a cheaper rate of Rs.2000 per kilogram, transport the same to Hyderabad and sell at a higher price at Rs.7000 and thereby gain illegal profits. 

Naik had criminal cases registered against him and his associates under the limits of KD Peta police station of Vizag and Janagoan police station of Warangal Commissionerate, in which they were arrested and remanded for judicial custody. 

Moreover, PD act was also initiated against Daravath Vamshi Naik in Warangal Commissionerate.  However, they did not mend their ways and continued their illegal activities and were arrested on Thursday with Ganja at ORR.
