Kolkata: Claiming that the implementation of the NRC is nothing but a political vendetta of the BJP-led central government, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday reiterated that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government will not allow implementation of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in the West Bengal.
During a discussion on the motion on NRC under Rule 185 at the assembly, Mamata Banerjee said “We will never let BJP [Bharatiya Janata Party] implement the National Register of Citizens in West Bengal.” India Today quoted.
Ms Banerjee claimed that NRC implementation is nothing but an attempt to divert the attention of the people from the ongoing economic crisis in the country.
