Today its her, Tomorrow her children will be made Gen. Secretary: MoS VK Singh to Priyanka

New Delhi: Ruling BJP party, as well as its allies, do not seem pleased with Congress’s decision on appointing Priyanka Gandhi as party’s General Secretary for UP East since the leaders were quite dismissive about the decision.

In a veiled attack on Priyanka Gandhi Union Minister of State for External Affairs VK Singh said today that she has been made the General Secretary, tomorrow her children will be made, Times Now reports.

It is not clear to what reason Singh played down her entry into politics.
“The public hasn’t made her the Secretary. The public will judge which leadership can take the country ahead,” he added.

BJP reacting on Priyanka’s entry into politics termed it as an entry to save Congress party since Rahul Gandhi has “failed” in providing leadership.

Speaking to media persons, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said that Congress supreme was forced to choose “family alliance” since as he was categorically “rejected” by various parties of the proposed grand alliance.

He further claimed that allowing Priyanka’s entry into politics, the grand old party has publicly accepted that Rahul Gandhi has failed the party as a leader and now that he is in need of his family’s support.

Meanwhile, Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said there was nothing unusual about Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s appointment as General Secretary in-charge of eastern Uttar Pradesh as the Congress is a “family concern”.

On the other hand, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said that Congress shall benefit from this decision and that people of India shared a special relationship with the Gandhi family.
