Bahadur Yar Jung

Bahadur Yar Jung was born in 1905 and died in 1944. He was one of the greatest orators Hyderabad has ever seen. He was president of
Majlis-e-Itahadul Muslimeen. So powerful used to be his speeches, he used to leave the audience spell bound.

Trivia – Once he was delivering a speech at Victory Playground and Nizam VII Mir Osman Ali Khan Bahadur, entered the event venue uninformed, he was so mesmerised and impressed by him. He later conferred upon him the title of “Bahadur Yar Jung” .

Architectural description

It is a very elegant tomb with no presence of ornamental work. It has a “Moorish architectural” style (Spain) with finely dressed stone arch in the centre of all of the sides with a double stepped rectangular surrounding of stone on the outer side. On all the four sides of the tomb about three feet high stone panelling is present.

Parapet wall over the roof has a “battlement” style design.

The circular dome is constructed over a octogonal base on squarish structure surrounding it.

It’s a very good concepted design with a combination of stone and stucco finish.

The entrance steps leading to the plinth are made of monolith finely dressed granite stone, with beautiful gate pillars on either side.

There was a separate dedicated entrance from the road which used to lead to the tomb led by a split level stepped pathway and a beautiful shallow water body is in the center of the pathway.
