TRS membership reaches 50 lakh mark: KTR

Hyderabad: TRS working president KT Rama Rao today expressed happiness over the membership of the party going beyond 50 lakh mark. He said the party members will get life insurance coverage of Rs 2 lakh each and presented a cheque for Rs 11.21 crore towards premium of the members to an insurance company.
         

Talking to mediapersons at Telangana Bhavan here today, KT Rama Rao said the party leaders in the districts and towns succeeded in their efforts to complete the membership drive target. The drive started on June 27 and going on in some other districts, he said. He appreciated the party rank and file across the State and thanked them for their sincere efforts. The party will provide training to leaders on completion of the committees and cadre will be known for a discipline like no others in the country.
         

The party working president said criticism and counter-criticism was common in politics. “We are taking steps to strengthen the TRS in municipalities, villages and mandals and committees will be formed. KTR claimed that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was ruling the State at his best and people are happy. The opposition parties have no work and we will not mind their hue and cry he said. He also said that the opposition parties are aware that the TRS will win the polls as and when they come. He said he made a courtesy call to Governor ESL Narasimhan.
