TS BIE reduces intermediate syllabus by 30 percent

Hyderabad: Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TS BIE) has reduced the syllabus of inter courses by 30 percent for the academic year 2020-21. This decision was taken due to loss of working days amid coronavirus pandemic.

Changes in intermediate syllabus

According to a senior official, in science streams, some of the topics and lessons have been removed as per the changes made by CBSE.

Based on the suggestion made by the expert committee constituted by the board, the syllabus of humanities and other courses have been reduced.

Working days

As per the calendar issued by BIE, there are 182 working days in the academic year 2020-21 whereas, last year, the number of working days was 222.

The board has reduced the syllabus for the current academic year due to less number of working days in 2020-21.

Online classes

At present, the classes for intermediate education are being conducted online on Doordarshan and T-SAT network channels.

The intermediate exams are scheduled to be held from 24th March to 12th April whereas, the advanced supplementary exam is likely to be held in the last week of May.
