Hyderabad: TS Election Commission is contemplating to hold elections for 731 Municipalities Corporation in the 3rd week of January 2020.
The election schedule will be released in the first week of January 2020.
It is reported that very soon, a meeting of the District Collectors will be held to review the arrangements of the election.
It may be mentioned that the tenure of office of the Municipalities expired in July last year itself. In order to run the administration of these municipalities, Govt. of TS appointed special officers.
According to the sources, Sankranti holidays fall in the second week of January. The categorization of wards on the basis of SCs, STs and BCs population will start soon and certain wards would be reviewed for these categories.
