Two ‘Gujaratis thugs’ have been making us fool, tweets this BJP leader

NEW DELHI: Sidelined for several years, I.P.Singh, a senior BJP leader dubbed the party’s top leadership as “Gujarati thugs”, a reference to PM Modi and party chief Amit Shah, who hail from Gujarat.

“Two Gujarati thugs have been befooling Hindi-speaking people for the last five years after capturing the country’s Hindi heartland, while we are silent,” the former BJP spokesperson said in a tweet.

In another tweet on Monday, Singh asked if the country had chosen a “pradhan mantri” (prime minister) or “prachar mantri” (advertisement minister). “Does the country’s prime minister look good selling t-shirt and tea cup?” Singh asked. “The BJP has been a party which made its place in the people’s hearts through its ideology. It’s impossible to produce “workers” with missed calls and T-shirts.”

Singh also hailed Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav’s decision to contest from Azamgarh. It heralds an end of the politics of caste and religion,” Singh tweeted on Sunday.

Singh has prefixed “usooldar” (idealist) to his Twitter handle @ipsinghbjp in reaction to Modi’s “Main Bhi Chowkidar” (I am a watchman too) campaign.

Singh had been suspended from the party last month for six years without any reason being cited.
