Hyderabad: The sleuths of Commissioner’s Task Force of North Zone apprehended two interstate fraudsters of Uttar Pradesh on Monday. On a tip-off, North Zone Task Force team laid a trap and apprehended two accused who were held while trying to dispose of copper Mahavir Jain Idol (seems to be Antique idol) weighing t 5 KGs as Panchaloha (copper) and antique idol with a prospective customer for Rs. 40, 00,000 near Alpha hotel road at Monda Market.
The police have seized Rs 9 Lakh, one antique weighing 5 KGs, 380 copper coins weighing 3.5 KGs, five gold-coated coins and two cell phones from the instance of accused persons.
The accused are identified as Arjun Sing aging 35 years a farmer form UP and Mohd Kallu aging 34 years from UP state settled in Hyderabad working as an auto driver. Both the accused were indulged in procuring and disposing of duplicate gold-coated coins and copper antiques as genuine copper to innocent people by luring them with deceitful words and use to earn money.
The accused along with seized material being handed over to SHO, Amberpet of Amberpet PS for further investigation.
The Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar addressing the media said, “Two of them were close friends and planned this to earn money in an easy form, by claiming that they obtained gold coins and Gold Antique Idol they use to convince the innocent people.”
For the cultivation of agriculture lands at their native village in UP state, they wanted to sell the gold and copper at a cheaper price. After that, the gang of two members target prospective customers, initially showing pure gold coin as a sample, after getting confidence with the customers for testing purposes they hand over original Gold coin weighing 10 grams coin and testing as genuine. Commissioner Anjani Kumar added.
P Radhakishan Rao, Deputy Commissioner of Police told that the cheaters set a deal with the customers and show the huge quantity of fake gold coated brass coins as genuine Gold coins, after receiving the amount they deliver the fake gold-coated coppers coins as genuine and disappear from the place with the amount.
