Srinagar: Two LeT militants were killed in a brief encounter with security forces in the Mirgund area on the outskirts of Srinagar.
The slain militants have identified as Ishfaq Rashid of Sozeith Village, who was active since 2018. He was among the top commanders. The other militant was Aijaz Bhat, a resident of Pulwama District.
The encounter broke out in the Ranbirghar area of Mirgund on the outskirts of Srinagar when security forces launched a search operation there following some inputs.
A police official said that even as the forces were conducting the search operation the militants opened fire triggering the encounter.
