Dubai: Dubai Court of First Instance sentenced a 36-year-old expat to life in prison for raping his girlfriend, aged 37 years.
According to the report published in Khaleej Times, the man who is identified as Jordanian raped his girlfriend, a Moroccan woman on 28th July. He committed this crime at his flat.
Narrated her ordeal, the victim who works as an Asst. Sales Executive at a shop in a mall said that the man had proposed her. Although the woman had agreed to his proposal, she was not happy with his drinking habit.
On 28th July, the man had picked her from her workplace at around 1:30 a.m. He took her to his flat where he had made dinner arrangements.
After a while, the man started making attempts for a physical relationship. When the woman resisted his move, he repeatedly slapped her. Ultimately, he raped her.
In the afternoon, the man dropped the woman at her workplace. Later, she lodged a complaint at Al Rashidiya police station.
Forensic examination confirmed that the woman faced sexual assault.
After hearing the case, the Dubai Court of First Instance sent him to jail for 25 years. After completion of the jail term, the man will be deported to his home country.
