Sitapur: A 35-year-old woman teacher of a government primary school in Pakaria area of Sitapur district was shot dead by one of her male colleagues in the school premises in broad daylight on Saturday, said police.

Aradhna Roy, an assistant teacher of the Government Primary School at Pakaria was shot twice by her male colleague Amit Kaushal, said Sitapur’s Superintendent of Police R P Singh.

The woman teacher died before being rushed to the hospital, while Kaushal fled the crime scene, he said, adding the police, however, managed to nab the accused before soon and also recovered the pistol used in the crime.

The woman teacher was said to be having a love affair with Kaushal but their relations had turned sour of late, the SP said.

Aradhna had earlier also complained Kaushal to the school authorities, following which an inquiry was conducted and Kaushal was issued a warning.

Kaushal shot dead Aradhana following an argument between them over an entry regarding casual leaves in the school register.
