New Delhi: The first session on the second day of 6th World Urdu Conference of National Council for the Promotion of Urdu language was held under the chairmanship of Abdur Raheem Ansari former chairman of Telangana Urdu Academy and noted religious scholar Maulana Farman Nadwi. Several scholars presented their papers. The second session was presided over by noted filmmaker Muzaffar Ali and former member of Planning Commission Syeda Saiyidain Hameed.
During her presidential address, Ms Hameed said I am indebted to my mother tongue. Urdu is a universal language and is the language of peace. This is the language of Hindu Muslim, Sikh and Christians, she said.
