Urdu University starts admission process; introduces two vocational courses

Hyderabad: Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), has started admission process for the year 2019-20 into its various programmes being offered at Hyderabad headquarters, Lucknow and Srinagar (J&K) campuses and 9 colleges of Teacher Education and 5 Polytechnics spread all over the country.

The only Central University offering higher education through Urdu medium has introduced two new vocational courses namely Medical Imaging Technology (MIT) and Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) at undergraduate level at its headquarters.

In addition, 25 Ph.D. programmes; 21 PG programmes and 8 Undergraduate programmes are available for admission under the Schools of languages, Education, Arts & Social Sciences, Computer Science & Information Technology, Mass Communication & Journalism and Sciences.

According to a notification released by Dr. M A Sikandar, Registrar, last date for online application for entrance based courses is 1st May, 2019 whereas last date for merit based courses is 30th June, 2019.

MANUU, which also works as a link to facilitate the entry of Madrassa passouts into main stream education, is also offering bridge courses at UG level for them.

Part time diploma programmes include the Ghazal Appreciation (Tahseen-e-Ghazal) course also. This is a unique programme designed to make the ghazal loving non-Urdu public understand the basic nuances of this popular Urdu literary genre.
