Urmila resigns from party after her ‘leaked’ letters fuels feud

Mumbai: In yet another blow to Congress party receding luck in Maharashtra, Bollywood actor-turned-politician Urmila Matondkar called it quits from the party today.

The Rangeela actress made her high profile entry into politics from the North Mumbai constituency.

She resigned from the Congress party in less than six months after joining in the month of March ahead Lok Sabha elections.

According to sources, the actress-turned-politician said the party lacks leadership as one of the main reasons for her resignation.

She also added that she was disillusioned with the way the Congress has performed.

The actress alleged that confidential communication that she had had with the Mumbai Congress chief, Milind Deora were leaked.
