An honest US man decided to return $43,000 he found hidden inside a couch he purchased from a thrift store.
According to reports, Howard Kirby, a Michigan native, found the cash stuffed inside the cushion and decided to its owner.
Although a lawyer told him it was legal for him to keep the cash, Kirby attempted to trace the couch’s original owner.
The money was later returned to the rightful owner Kim Fauth-Newberry, whose family had originally considered burning the couch until the thrift store accepted it, as it had belonged to her recently deceased grandfather.
