Thousands of Muslims gather to celebrate Eid-ul-Adha

Naperville: Thousands of American Muslims from all ethnicities gathered at North Center Collage’s large sports complex in celebration of Eid. While speaking to over 3,500 strong gathering, Dr Shaik Rizwan “reminded the faithful about the importance of belief, the sacrifice and the family values” “our services must start at home” he reminded. He called upon sisters in particular to appreciate the important role they play in building the family, the community and the ummah at large, he gives multiple examples of successful women in Islam.

“The children along with family elders enjoyed the celebration,” said Shafeek Abooubaker, a local community leader, “Allah helped us with wonderful weather too” he continued. Akif Fakhruddin, The Naperville Islamic Center Board Member offered a vote of thanks, he expresses community appreciation for the Naperville City Police for providing excellent support for a successful gathering along with a team of volunteers, college officials and local Muslims leaders.

Naperville, Il has one of the largest Muslim population in the Chicago area with three Majids offering daily salat and social services on 24 hours basis.
