VCs’ appointments in TS might be delayed

Hyderabad: When will the posts of Vice-Chancellors in nine Telangana Universities be filled up? This is the question, which is making rounds in the academic circles of the State.

It may be mentioned that a notification calling for applications to fill up VCs’ positions in TS was issued on 9th July this year.

It is reported that in all, 984 applications have been received.

The newly appointed Governor, Ms. T. Soundararajan had given an assurance that this process would be completed soon but so far, no action has been taken.

The search committees did not hold any meetings to finalize the panel of names for appointment as VCs.

In the next few days, notification for holding elections for municipalities will be issued and as a result of which the moral code of conduct will come into force. This will delay the process by another two months.

No recruitment of teachers is taking place in State Universities which is affecting the standard and quality of education since teaching work is being extracted by junior teachers employed on a contract basis.
