VHP, RSS will not celebrate ‘Shaurya Diwas’ on Dec. 6

Lucknow: After the Supreme Court verdict on Ayodhya dispute, RSS is taking every step very cautiously. This is the reason that it has decided not to celebrate ‘Shaurya Diwas’ on December 6 — the anniversary of Babri Masjid demolition — and will light diyas instead to mark the day.

It was the tradition of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) along with its affiliated organisations, to observe Shaurya Diwas on December 6 every year since the Babri Masjid was demolished on this day in 1992. But this time both VHP and RSS have decided to depart from its tradition.

News 18 quoted VHP spokesperson Sharad Sharma as saying “Since the top court has given the verdict in favour of the Ram Mandir, we have decided to mark the day by lightening of diyas across the temples of Ayodhya.”
