The composer revealed that to help create the score, he and his team travelled to the International Library of African Music in South Africa, where he got a chance to work with a collection of about 500 instruments, even the ones which don’t exist anymore.

The best rap performance award was received for the song ‘King’s Dead’ by Kendrick Lamar. The song shared the award with ‘Bubblin’, by Anderson Paak. ‘King’s Dead’ was also nominated for the best rap song, but the award went to Drake’s ‘God’s Plan.’
