Hyderabad: After the enactment of the Triple Talaq Act, Telangana State Wakf Board has stopped issuing certificates of Talaq (divorce) and Qula.
People are facing a lot of difficulties. Although no regular instructions have been issued by Govt., the CEO of Wakf Board issued verbal instructions.
It may be mentioned that for the persons going abroad, divorce and qula certificates are essential without which, the passport officials do not entertain any change in the names.
Without these documents, it is not possible to get a passport and other certificates.
Impact of Triple Talaq Act
It is reported that after the enactment of Triple Talaq Bill, Wakf Board decided on its own to stop issuing these certificates.
Standing Consul of Wakf Board was contacted for eliciting legal opinion but he returned the file by saying that clarification should be sought from the Govt. of Telangana. In the city, there are many Muslim religious institutions and muftis. It is the duty of the Wakf Board to find out a solution by consulting them.
