Waseem Rizvi gets a blow: High Court rejects anticipatory bail

Lucknow: Chairman of UP Wakf Board, Mr. Waseem Rizvi did not get anticipatory bail from Allahabad High Court in transfer of lands to Jawahar University case with the help of fake documents.

The petition was filed against him in this case by Allama Zameer Naqvi. Mr. Azam Khan, SP, MP, his wife Tazyeen Fatima, his son Abdullah Azam Khan and Chairman of Sunni Wakf Board, Zafar Farooqui are also the accused persons.

On behalf of Mr. Waseem Rizvi, his advocate, Mr. V. P. Srivastav pleaded the case whereas Mr. Syed Farman Naqvi Advocate appeared on behalf of Zameer Naqvi.

Lands registered in the name of Shia Wakf Board

As per the details of the case, certain lands were registered in the name of Shia Wakf Board and later transferred to Jawhar University through fake documents.

The next hearing of the case is scheduled for 15th October.

It may be noted that Mr. Waseem Rizvi’s plea was earlier rejected by District Court, Rampur.
