New Delhi: The staff of Piccadely Hotel was beaten up by the relatives and friends of the groom who was supposed to be married at the hotel because the food served at the hotel was ‘cold’.
The fight started after the relatives and friends at the wedding were served ‘cold food’, said the DCP Monika Bhardwaj who was at the scene.
However, the hotel manager denied the allegations and said that the groom’s friends misbehaved with female staff. Rajesh Batla, the General Manager of the hotel stated that “The groom and his guests fled without even attending the wedding function.”
The groom and his friends got drunk, began dancing and misbehaved with our staff. “Four of our staff suffered head injuries,” said the manager.
The DCP further added that “On the day of the incident, we detained two guests and one waiter as part of preventive action. On Monday, hotel authorities approached us with a written complaint. We are in the process of registering a first information report.”
