WhatsApp rolls out ‘fingerprint lock’ feature

New Delhi: WhatsApp, Facebook-owned messaging app has rolled out another feature, ‘fingerprint lock’.

This feature is available on 2.19.221, the latest version of WhatsApp.  

According to the report published in Gadget 360, by default, the feature will be in disable mode. It can be enabled manually.

How to enable fingerprint lock?

Step 1: Tap on three dots on the top right of the app.

Step 2: Select ‘setting’ from the list.

Step 3: Select the ‘account’ option.

Step 4: Tap on the ‘privacy’ option.

Step 5: Finally, select the ‘fingerprint lock’ option to enable the feature.

The automatic lock has three options

  1. Immediately
  2. After 1 minute
  3. After 30 minutes

It may be mentioned that once the feature is enabled, the user of the app will need fingerprint authentication to unlock WhatsApp.
