Winner of 19 gold medals, Ayesha forced to leave studies

Ayesha says winning gold medal at international level was her dream. Hence she could not concentrate on studies but when she filled NIOS form she studied hard and passed in first division with 65 pc marks.

New Delhi: Ayesha, the student of Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya who passed 10th from NIOS and reached the school to take admission in 11th, is forced to leave her studies as the principal asked her to submit a Demand Draft of 5000 rupees for admission. As Ayesha belongs to a poor family she didn’t have that much money. It must be noted that Ayesha has won gold medals in sports. President Zarf Educational and Welfare Society Manzar Ali Khan met Deputy Director of Education North East in this connection. He also talked to school principal, who said ‘we cannot give admission without fee. If Delhi government refunds the fee then we will return the draft’.

It must be noted that condition of Rs 5000 fee for admission into 11th class was laid by the CBSC a week ago.

Ayesha says winning gold medal at international level was her dream. Hence she could not concentrate on studies but when she filled NIOS form she studied hard and passed in first division with 65 pc marks.

Ayesha has been working hard in sports for several years and began winning gold medals on state and national level from a very young age. Her father is a tailor and affords private sports fee and other expenses every month. He wants that her daughter study further but his dreams seem to be shattered because he can’t afford to pay 5000 rupees. He requests chief minister and deputy chief minister of Delhi to help her daughter continue her studies and sports.
