Woman goes for shopping, gets stabbed instead

Bangalore: In a shocking incident a 28-year-old woman who was returning after shopping with her husband was stabbed by an unidentified suspect on a bike on the busy road of 12th main Road, Indiranagar.

The victim identified as Abhilasha started profusely bleeding from her right leg where she was stabbed and was rushed to a nearby hospital by her husband, BM reports.

The incident occurred around 8.30 pm on Sunday when the victim was returning with her husband after shopping. The victim’s husband has lodged a complaint with the Indiranagar police.

According to her husband’s complaint they had gone shopping for groceries at a newly opened supermarket in Indiranagar and were walking back to their car parked on the 1st cross of the 12th main when and unknown person riding a two wheeler suddenly came from behind and attacked her on right leg with some sharp object causing a deep cut on her right thigh.

Neither the victim nor the husband could see the biker’s registration number.


“As the victim was bleeding profusely, she was taken to a nearby hospital. After receiving treatment, her husband filed a police complaint on the next day around 11.30 am,” said the investigation officer.

 “Victim’s statements have been recorded. The victim is a housewife and her husband is a law practitioner. The case is being investigated. The reason for the attack is not known. We are checking the footage of the CCTVs in the vicinity to get clues of the bike on which the accused escaped,” the officer added.


The Indiranagar police have registered a case of voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means under section 324 of the Indian Penal Code against the unidentified suspect.
