New Delhi: Gulshan, a resident of Haji Colony who is protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) 2019 and National Register of Citizens (NRC) at Shaheen Bagh broke down into tears while talking to Ravish Kumar of NDTV.

Struggle to save Constitution

She said, “Govt. is asking documents to prove citizenship despite the fact that our grandparents were the citizens of India”.

Reacting on Amit Shah’s statement, Gulshan questioned, ‘why is Union Minister not ready to give citizenship to the Muslims?’

Consoling the woman, Ravish Kumar said, ‘It is our responsibility to come and say to Gulshan that we are with you’.

Kumar further told that this is the struggle to save the constitution and it is not the fight for any religion as is being portrayed by some media persons.
