Yemeni love story ends in tragedy–girl dies of ailment, boy commits suicide saying ‘we will meet in paradise soon’

Hyderabad: It is a love tragedy of extreme kind.

A Yemeni student in Hyderabad killed himself by hanging to a ceiling fan in his flat after coming to know that his girlfriend who has died in Yemen after brief illness.

The 24-year-old Mohammad Attas Ali, a resident of Paramount Colony in Toli Chowki, was pursuing higher studies in the city. He committed suicide on Tuesday night.

According to his friends, Attas Ali was in love with a girl who lived in Yemen. He came to know about a week ago that the girl has passed away following brief illness. Since then he had slipped into depression. Unable to bear the shock he decided to end his life.

A suicide note which was found in the flat where Attas Ali lived said, “We will meet in paradise soon.”

Banjara Hills Police Station completed the formalities and sent the body of Attas Ali for postmortem, completed other formalities and handed over the body to his friends for burial.

Thousands of students from Yemen and other Arab and African countries are studying in various educational institutions in Hyderabad for several years.
