Yunus Dehlvi, former editor of ‘Shama’ passes away

New Delhi: Noted film personality and former editor of ‘Shama’ an Urdu monthly, Mohammed Yunus Dehlvi passed away after a prolonged illness. He was 89. He is survived by wife Zeenath Kausar Dehlvi, daughter Sadia Dehlvi and son Wasim Dehlvi. Yunus Dehlvi was the eldest son of the founder of ‘Shama’, Hafiz Mohammed Yousuf Dehlvi.

Famous magazines like Banu, Shabistan, Khilauna, Mujrim and Sushma (Hindi) were published from his Publication House. Yunus Dehlvi was also the general secretary of All India Urdu Editors’ Conference.

Yunus Dehlvi also served as President Indian Newspaper Society (INS) and executive member of Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC).
