Hyderabad: Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily, Mr. Zahid Ali Khan in a press note issued yesterday, made an appeal to the philanthropists to donate generously for the 148-year-old Islamic University, Jamia Nizamia wherein Arabic literature, Islamic History, Hadith, Islamic Jurisprudence are taught.
In the present day of irreligious scenario, this institution has been serving the cause of Islam and the Muslims. A language division has also been established to equip the Ulema with the languages through which propagation of Islam could be carried out.
It may be mentioned that the scholars of this institution have been engaging the students in teaching Islamic values.
In this institution, there is no fee and the students are provided with textbooks, uniform, bedding, medicines and accommodation.
At present, 300 affiliated schools are working in various districts catering to Islamic knowledge. The annual expenses of Jamia Nizamia work out to Rs. 4.5 crore. The institution offers courses up to doctorate level.
At the end of his press note, Mr. Zahid Ali Khan made a fervent appeal to the philanthropist to donate generously during the month of Ramadan. The donations can be credited into the account of the Jamia Nizamia at SBI, Shibli Gunj.
