Zimbabwe triumph over UAE, secure series

Harare [Zimbabwe]: Zimbabwe defeated the United Arab Emirates by 131 runs, sealing the four ODI match series 3-0 against the visitors here on Sunday.

Zimbabwe were put out to bat first and the hosts took the full opportunity to set a ginormous target of 308 for the UAE.

The credit for goes largely to Sean Williams’ unbeaten 109 supported by half-centuries from Craig Ervine (64) and Peter Moor (58*).

UAE captain Mohammad Naveed turned out to be the most effective bowler, conceding just 42 runs in nine overs and took one wicket.

UAE then came out to bat to chase the target but from the beginning, only the match slipped off from their hands as they gave away three wickets inside the first six overs.

Ryan Burl showed an impeccable performance with the ball as he took four wickets helping his side to dominate over the visitors.

UAE scored 176 before they all were bundled off back to the pavilion by Zimbabwe bowlers.
Zimbabwe and UAE will now come face-to-face for their fourth and final ODI on April 16.
