AP capital search panel to submit report by aug. 20

Sivaramakrishnan Committee constituted to study and identify the place for development of new capital for Andhra Pradesh would submit its final report to the Union government by August 20.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Saturday, c Sivaramakrishnan said the committee held discussions with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for over two hours and presented a power point presentation to him about locations and issues related to new capital.

The committee members held a meeting with the Chief Minister at Lake View Guest House, who wanted to build a world class capital with all modern facilities. Earlier, the committee members also held a meeting with Municipal Administration Minister Narayana at Secretariat.

The Capital City will be one which paves an easy way for all other areas with better connectivity, water, power and other facilities, he said. He said as many as 14 places to be developed with key Central and State institutions. Tirupati, Visakhapatnam, Guntur and Vijayawada and Central Andhra will be developed.
Narayana said the committee has visited different State capitals in the country and abroad for getting updates of facilities. Besides visiting various state capitals, the committee also visited capitals of Malaysia, China, Islamabad and Brazil, Narayana said.
