Arsenal to offer Wilshere new deal that keeps midfielder at Emirates until 2020

Arsenal is reportedly ready to offer their midfielder Jack Wilshere a new deal that would keep him at the Emirates for the next five years.

Talks are planned for early in January between the club and Wilshere’s representatives, and it is hoped a new contract can be agreed by the end of the season, which will tie the England star to Arsenal until 2020 and put him among the club’s top earners with wages of around 1,50,000 pounds-a-week.

There would be significant bonuses in the deal, which could bolster Wilshere’s salary even further, The Mirror reported.

Wilshere, who will turn 23 in January, is seen as a future captain of the club. He has shown what he can achieve now that he is free of the injuries that have blighted him in recent seasons.

Wilshere was named England’s man of the- match in the 3-1 win over Slovenia eight days ago and again excelled in the 3-1 bashing of Scotland at Celtic Park on Tuesday.

The midfielder has three years left on his current agreement at the end of the season, but Arsenal is keen to tie him down for the long term, so that he can be the hub of the team for the foreseeable future, the report added. (ANI)
