New Delhi, October 12: Head constable of the Barakhamba police station in New Delhi district allegedly committed suicide, police said today.
Rohtas (48), a resident of the Nazafgarh area, shot himself at around 2310 hrs yesterday in the duty officer’s room.
He was rushed to the RML hospital, but was declared brought dead by the doctors, a police officer said.
Though the reason behind his suicide was yet to be ascertained, he was said to have taken the extreme step in the presence of other officers.
He is survived by his wife, two sons and as many daughters.
