President to release commemorative postage stamp on Sahir Ludhianvi on Mar. 8

New Delhi, Mar. 5 (ANI): President Pranab Mukherjee will release a commemorative postage stamp in the memory of renowned poet and lyricist Late Sahir Ludhianvi in recognition of his contribution to literature, poetry and the Hindi Film Industry at the Rashtrapati Bhavan here on March 8 on the occasion of his birth anniversary.

Sahir Ludhianvi breathed his last on October 25, 1980, at the age of fifty-nine.

Ludhianvi was a popular Urdu poet and Hindi lyricist, who worked extensively in Hindi films. He won the Filmfare Award twice, in 1964 and 1977, and in 1971 was awarded the Padma Shri. (ANI)
