100-year-old rare copy of Holy Quran fetches $80,000 at Istanbul auction

Istanbul: In an auction held in Istanbul, Turkey, a rare copy of the Holy Qur’an fetched $80,000. The holy belongs to the Ottoman Empire over 100 years ago.

According to a report published by Turkish daily newspaper, Sabah the auction was held at a hotel in downtown of Istanbul.

Hasan Sabri, one of the famous calligraphers transcribed this copy of the Holy Qur’an. It is written in Arabic calligraphy Thuluth and 24 karat gold-plated.
