New Delhi: Eleven school girls sustained injuries, when the van they were travelling in turned turtle in north Delhi’s Kashmere Gate area today, following which the driver of vehicle has been arrested, police said.
While three of the injured girls had to be admitted in the hospital, eight were discharged after treatment, a senior official said adding that the driver, Virender Kumar, was arrested under relevant sections of IPC.
The van did not belong to the concerned private school in Civil Lines, it was hired collectively by the wards of some students. Near Kashmere Gate flyover, the driver lost control over the vehicle while taking sharp turn, following which the vehicle turned turtle.
It was a pedestrian who called up the police and the injured were rushed to a hospital, police said.
