Hyderabad: Explaining the seriousness of the Govt. of Telangana for providing 12% reservation to Muslims, TRS MP and President of Telangana Jagruti, Ms. K. Kavitha told that Mr. KCR is a politician who is firm in his sayings and deeds. He had made a promise during election campaign that 12% reservation would be given to Muslims. In order to fulfill this promise, Sudheer Committee has been constituted.
She was answering to a question about providing reservation to Muslims. He was addressing “Meet the Press” program. She told that Govt. of Telangana wrote a letter to Central Govt. requesting for the enhancement of Reservation Quota. No reply has been received from the Central Govt. so far. Govt. of Telangana is very serious about providing reservation to Muslims but due to legal complications, certain hurdles are being faced. Govt. is trying to overcome these hurdles in order to provide reservation.
When asked about the reservations to Muslims in the recently advertised Govt. vacancies by the Public Service Commission, Ms. Kavitha told that attempts are being made to resolve these issues.
She was asked about the development of Urdu language. She replied that Govt. of Telangana would play an important role of Urdu language. She also told that special budget has been released to Urdu Academy on par with Telugu Academy for providing Mid-Day meals in Urdu medium schools. She said that there is a need to link Urdu language with employment for which she would make a representation to the concerned department and Mr. KCR.
