200 judges go on mass leave after Hyderbad High Court suspends 9

Hyderabad : Telangana advocates holding placards at a protest in front of the High Court demanding separate High Court for Telangana, in Hyderabad on Monday

Around 200 judges working in Telangana went on a 15-day mass casual Tuesday, immediately after the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad suspended nine more judges on disciplinary grounds.

Two judges were suspended yesterday in a similar manner against the backdrop of an agitation by Telangana lawyers and judges against the provisional allocation of judicial officers between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The 200 judges are demanding authorities to revoke the suspension order.

Over 100 judges under the banner of Telangana Judges Association on Sunday took out a procession in Hyderabad in protest against the provisional allocation.

The protesters demanded that judicial officers who are natives of Andhra Pradesh should be allocated to that state instead of Telangana.
