BHOPAL: In a horrific incident, a 25-year old Muslim youth was killed by dragging mercilessly for over 100 meters before smashing and crushing him to death under an SUV.
The victim, Salman Abdul was murdered a fortnight before his marriage. His wedding was scheduled for May 21st.
The incident occurred in Shanti Nagar slum cluster in MP Nagar area of Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal on Saturday.
According to Sohail, Salman’s younger brother, Shivaji, his and companions had targeted nearly dozen parked vehicles, smashing the windowpanes, reported Hindustan Times.
When objected, the main accused Shivaji Patil, who is also the victim’s neighbours, had a heated argument which soon turned violent.
Shivaji and his accomplices brutally thrashed the victim. When Salman’s brother Sohail tried to intervene, they also attacked and thrash him.
Before fleeing from the spot, they ran the vehicle over Salman, who suffered seriously and passed away at a city hospital on Sunday.
Shiva Patil and Rocky have been arrested and search is underway to nab the other two. A case has been booked against the culprits for murder and vandalism.
Shivaji, claims to be the district president of Rashtriya Hindu Sena also has a long criminal record. He is allegedly connected with top leaders of the ruling party in Bhopal and over half-a-dozen criminal cases were against him.
