New Delhi: A sudden drop in visibility today forced Delhi airport authorities to divert three passenger aircraft to nearby aerodromes while some 26 flights were delayed on account of bad weather.
Two SpiceJet and one GoAir flight was diverted to other airports this morning due to a sudden fall in the visibility this morning, a Delhi airport official said.
Besides, some 26 flights also failed to take off or depart on their schedule time on account of poor visibility, the official added.
The minimum visibility required for CAT III landing at the Delhi airport is 75 meters and for low visibility take-off Operations (LVTO) it is 125 meters.
Earlier, IndiGo had also tweeted that some of its flights were affected due to the sudden drop in visibility at Delhi airport.
“Due to sudden drop in visibility at Delhi, our to & fro flights are affected. As a result consequential delays are expected,” the airline informed its customers in a tweet.
