48-year-old Head constable dies under suspicious circumstances

Hyderabad: Khaja Mohiuddin (48) a head constable of 1990-batch died on Sunday night while performing duty as a bullet hit in his chin at the Cyberabad Armed Reserve headquarters on Sunday night.

Mohiuddin reported for duty on Sunday. He was supposed to leave on Monday morning. At 2:30a.m. On Monday another constable heard a gunshot and rushed to a room where Khaja Mohiuddin and few other constables are sleeping. The constable was shocked to see that the bullet had pierced in Mohiuddin’s chin and exited from his head.

Inspector Amberpet M. Ravinder Reddy said. “The constables found him lying on the floor with the SLR weapon pointed towards his chin. The bullet pierced through his chin and exited through the head.”

Mohiuddin was immediately taken to a hospital but he was declared dead by the doctors.

It is not yet clear that the incident accidentally happened or he tried to commit suicide. The Inspector said .“We are investigating the incident from all angles including weapon misfire and suicide.”

Mohiuddin was working with the Cyberabad Armed Reserve unit for the last ten years and was survived by his wife and 12-year-old daughter.
