With 550 onboard, ship “Harshvardhan” stranded off Vizag port


Visakhapatnam: Over 550 passengers are stuck onboard in private Merchant Vessel ‘’Harshvardhan,” a Port Blair-bound ship.

The passengers mostly labourers from North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha include over 150 women and around 15 kids aged below 10 years.

After 6 hours of journey, the ship reportedly halted due to a technical snag. It is learnt that the ship has four generators the problem arise in one of the generators and it needed repair.

“It’s not a major issue. After repair of generator, it will resume voyage by evening,” Vizag Port Chairman M.T. Krishna Babu told The Hindu.
